During today’s “Unplugged Sunday”, I’m going to focus on a couple of things that don’t (or at least shouldn’t) rely on electricity… or technology… to complete. I am going to be working of my quilt projects that are currently “in-progress”.
First, I’m going to be “slicing and dicing” the last pieces that I need for “Stars”:
- 60 (2 1/2″) light blue squares;
- 30 (4 1/2″) floral ink squares; and
- 384 (2 1/2″) floral ink squares.
I know this sounds like A LOT of work (especially the last one), but with my new “Stripology” ruler, I’m sure I’ll be able to make quick work of all of this “slicing and dicing” in no time!
Next, I’m going to do some measuring for another quilt project of mine. I need to figure out how much fabric I have for this project and how much, if any, I still need to purchase!
So, yeah… I won’t be using anything that relies on electricity — or technology — to do. I’ll just be using a tape measure and my “new-fangled” rotary cutter, something I’m sure many Victorian women might have wanted to use had they been around back then!
Once I get all of this cutting and measuring done, I should be ready to start cranking out the blocks needed to complete both of these project. Just have to avoid cutting myself with that darned rotary cutter of mine!
(Note: Its blades are REALLY sharp as I’ve learned the painful way!)
