In honor of today being “National Cherry Popsicle Day” and tomorrow being “National Peach Day), this “Tasty Tuesdays” post is going to be another “twofer” — with not one, but TWO featured recipes! The first of these will be “Homemade Cherry Ice Pops With Only 3 Ingredients”, and the second one will be a recipe for peach cobbler. Both of these recipes are definitely going to be TASTY ways to celebrate these two “national days” — whether you celebrate them on the actual day or at some point this month! Without further ado, here are this week’s featured recipes:

“Learn how to make cherry popsicles right at home with this cherry popsicle recipe that adults and kids love!”

This recipe reminded me of one I tried using blueberries, and because I liked that one (another three-ingredient recipe), I’m sure I’ll like this one, too. It also reminded me that you can probably substitute virtually any fruit you like for the cherries (or blueberries) to come up with some delicious — and sure-to-be-tasty — flavors of popsicles! So, have fun experimenting, and after you do, please let me know what flavors you created.
Moving on to the featured recipe for tomorrow’s “National Peach Day”… When trying to decide which peach recipe to feature, my first thought was peach pie (primarily because “National Peach Pie Day” was last week (08/24/25), but then I thought that making pies is quite time-consuming (though with very tasty end results). So… I changed my mind! I’ve decided to feature a recipe for peach cobbler since (1) cobblers are quick and easy to make, and (2) cobblers remind me of a dear friend from my early college days who would invite me over to her house to make blackberry cobblers, using freshly-picked blackberries from her backyard. And now, without further ado, here is a simple recipe for “Peach Cobbler” from “The Essential Amish Cookbook” by Lovina Eicher.
Peach Cobbler
(from: “The Essential Amish Cookbook”)
Ingredients
1/2 cup butter
2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
1 Tablespoon baking powder
1 1/2 cups milk
4 cups peaches, sliced (fresh or canned)
Directions
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Put butter in a 9×13-inch baking pan and place in oven to melt for 3-4 minutes.
- Combine sugar, flour, baking powder, and milk. Pour into pan with melted butter. Arrange peaches on top of batter. Bake at 325 degrees F for 35-40 minutes until golden brown.
Can be served with ice cream or milk.
“When I need to remove the skin from peaches to use for baking, I place them in a bowl and pour boiling water over top of the peaches. After a minute or two in the hot water, the skin will just slip off.”
So, there you have ’em: A couple of recipes to help you celebrate both “National Cherry Popsicle Day” and “National Peach Day”. Hope you try ’em out and then let me know what you think of ’em!
One more thing… If you have any recipes that you’d like to share with others, please let me know, so I can feature them in a future “Tasty Tuesdays” post. In addition, I’m always on the look out for new themes for recipes to feature since having a theme usually makes it easier for me to decide which recipes I want to share with you each month. So… I’m looking forward to finding out what some of your favorite recipes are and what themes you’d like me to feature in future posts. Take care!
